Week 28, Day 3

(I am officially third trimester by everyone's standards.)
Weight gain: 22#
Cravings: ice cream cones
Physically: consistent sharp pain in my hips/bum, occasional Braxton-Hicks
Emotionally: dealing w/self-image, occasional depressed funk, excitment about how close it is, scared about how close it is...
Next Prenatal Appt: May 5th @ 4:00p
Other: I hate Babies-R-Us but have to register there b/c Target is lacking...I just wanted to say it. I truly, truly despise that store. What kind of store, known for catering to pregnant women, puts their bathroom in the farthest back corner behind the empty product boxes!?

According to baby center, this week Zoe is much like a Chinese cabbage - weighing ~ 2.25# and clocking in around 15 inches from top of head to heels. And...she can blink her eyes!!!! That is so exciting!!!

Matt is reading another one of his crazy church history, church, general spirituality books and he read this part to me aloud the other night while reading before bed:

"Some Bible scholars point out to us that three different words are employed in the Greek to designate 'Life': (1) bios (2) psuche (3) zoe. They all describe life but convey very different meanings. Bios has reference to the means of life or living. Our Lord Jesus uses this word when He commended the woman who cast into the temple treasury her whole living. Zoe is the highest life, the life of the spirit. Whenever the Bible speaks of eternal life it uses this word..."
