Startin Fall!

These little girls are back to school! Kinder and 2nd. My babiest girl goes off to school now. It's so amazing that she got to walk in with her older sister. I asked if they see each other during the day and Ana replied, "yes! we wave to each other when we go to the other classes (PE/art) and one time Zoe ran over and gave me a hug!" I was a little nervous about A going off by herself in the big big world - but she isn't actually. Not really. Z is very nearby. Siblings!!

Little Big Girls

Speaking of siblings the intense Jackie love is still going strong. With the girls off at school he and Ben have been having more interactions. Let's just say Ben does not spoil Jack. He isn't too rough or violent but his games with Jack involve lots of chasing and pretend shooting things. Ben doesn't know what sounds a gun makes so he holds things really intensely pointing them at Jack (sticks, toys, cheesesticks..) and says things like "i'm gonna spray you! psssssh" or just makes primitive guttural noises. Because boys are insane.

Sibling love

But oh so sweet - look what came to cuddle with me in bed in the middle of the night:

Benny Booney Beany

I let him too. I've almost always let them come in. It's soooo nice to snuggle!!! And I'm pretty sure at some point they will stop. Even now Z hardly ever does this anymore - and she was the number on culprit! I just love this picture of Ben. His hat (that he sleeps in?), the fact that he is a bug catcher, froggy. Speaking of froggy -

The Real Deal

This is what love looks like. The Froggy on the right is a new, never revealed to Ben, Froggy. He plays music and stays in a scrunched up position. He is -lime- green and so snuggly soft. Froggy on the left is the Real Froggy. The original. His best friend. He often says, "Froggy loves me!" When he gets hurt he rubs Froggy's hand over the ouchie. Day in and Day out Froggy can be found slung over Ben's shoulder. And even though we have this back up, truly I would be devastated if we ever lost the real one. I never could tell if I bought that Frog for Ben's emotional need or my own during those dark, dark first cleft baby months but just knowing he has stuck it out with us for so long brings great joy to my heart.

Crafts, Lincoln Logs, Ponies - oh my!

Our days are changing - the pace is changing - two in school in the afternoon, homework... but we are still trying to find time for the things we love. Playing, crafting, working out... and mostly just being together!
