6 weeks

Here are some pictures from her second ever bath! It happened probably 3 weeks ago but the pics are still cute. I think she still has her cord in them:

Matt and I are currently in the process of trying to get our wee one to sleep. Our little 6 week old beautiful baby! So in love! Truly. It's an overwhelming feeling.

I read that for some women bonding with your baby takes more than just the "magic moment" of first holding them in your arms. I think this was true for me. I always loved Zoe, was amazed by her but the intensity of my love for her grows every. single. day. Not to mention that by the time I held Zoe in my arms I had been awake for way too long and at the end of 30 something hour labor, most of which was drug-free. We have video of the moment we first held her and I dont actually remember it at all. On the video I ask her what she was doing in there for so long.

One of my favorite things about Zoe is feeling and breathing her breath. I can't explain this obsession - Matt thinks I'm crazy. I remember in the hospital room in the middle of the night I would hold her little swaddled body close to my face and just hold her close to feel her breathing against my face... something about the way it smelled and felt was just like a little miracle to me. It still is. Matt says it smells like milk...! Quizas....

The other night she was asleep and as we were falling asleep in bed I asked Matt if he ever missed Zoe when she was asleep... he laughed and look at me and said "Are you a Mom?" He apparently does not miss Zoe after 45 minutes of her sleeping.

In an effort not to forget - Zoe started smiling in her 5th week. Little by little it grew more consistent and now if she knows you she will smile when you say her name and catch her attention. Too! Cute! She also has a TON to say when she is in a good mood. I think one of her favorite words is "Hi" because she almost always responds to this word with her own version... it sounds sort of like "hhaa.." Really breathy. It is in the video in the last post a little. This week her talking has really been more consistent... sometimes she really gets going on those vowel sounds.

This weekend Zoe is going to meet her Uncle Eric and her cousin Micah for the first time! Hurray family! Speaking of family - here is some Zoe Grandpa love captured on camera:

These abuelos love their granddaughter (they also both love blue t-shirts apparently!). Zoe started wailing right before the picture with my dad. I love the look he is giving her.

p.s my apologies... at her last doctor visit Zoe was 23" long.

Annnnd here is one more silly picture from one of Zoe and my many conversations/play dates in the morning on our bed:
