Baby Zoe is 10 weeks old! She is definitely baby-esque now. Less fussing overall, more predictable schedule, more smiles, more talking, more muscle control... more fun!
This past week she made a "w" noise! Whoo! Matt and I were pretty excited although she hasn't done it since. Although her "g" sounds are a lot more consistent. She loves, LOVES to talk to her friends. Her friends are her little stuffed playmates on her playmat and on her mobile (courtesy of Mimi). If you lay her down in their sight she coos and giggles at them almost nonstop sometimes. So much fun!
She can hold up her head pretty well now which makes holding her a lot easier... sometimes.
My sister gave me a baby ornament last year which is a clock with only three options for time on it - around where the numbers go it says "feeding, changing, sleeping, feeding, changing, sleeping" etc around and around. Sometimes, most days, I see that clock ornament in my head and think about how true it is! The name of the ornament is "living on baby time." - That is exactly what I am doing. She wakes up... is happy for about 5 minutes then wants to be changed and wants to nurse. Next she is happy for about 30 minutes then needs to be changed again and then is happy for about 20-30 more minutes after which I put her down for a nap and she sleeps for an hour or so.
That is what we do all day long.
That made me feel pretty good... because since I can't manage school and motherhood and excel in both (I made a B on both of my first papers for my English class) - I would much, MUCH rather excel in motherhood.
Here is a fun video of Z in the bathtub. It is a little dark because the lighting in the bathroom is sub par. Enjoy!
