Yesterday while playing with her Daddy, Z kept repeating the same word/phrase over and over and over again. It sort of sounded like "drop" but not really...the most impressive thing was that it was clear she was trying to communicate to us directly. Z loves to babble to herself...babbles herself awake, babbles herself asleep, babbles herself all the time! Before it has almost always seemed as though it didn't matter if we were around or not to hear it - she had a lot to say and she just pushed on through. But yesterday, she was looking directly at Daddy repeating the phrase over and over again - almost with the inflection of a question. Then she looked at me and said the same thing... this must have gone on for a good 3 minutes. We still have no idea what she saying...
She also has started using facial expressions a lot more. While talking she changes her facial expression to expressions which sometimes convey surprise, urgency, excitement, etc. It so fun to watch her talk.
In the past couple of weeks Z has also added some more party tricks to her bag: she can clap, point (mostly at ceiling fans...), and click her tongue on her mouth to make a silly noise.
And a couple days ago she took SEVEN consecutive steps all by herself!!!
I feel like her development is ramping up lately... maybe she is planning on performing a show at her first birthday party which just happens to be less than a month away!
