Our little family made it all the way to Turkey and back for Spring Break. We are so, so thankful that we went despite many, many people's unwelcommed comments and opinions about our journey. "Why are you going so pregnant..." "It's such an unsafe place, you better leash her!" ... silly. In the end, like everything else, we know our baby best and we knew she could do it! And she did. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure Turks have been having babies for thousands of years...successfully.
Because Z went to Turkey she got to play on tons of unregulated playgrounds (oh yea, that means there were sea-saws AND metal slides at ridiculous, close to 90* angles) and gets tons of free candy, clothes, sweet breads, etc from just about every single shop owner we passed.
Because Z went to Turkey Matt and I had an automatic conversation starter and we invited into so many Turkish homes and given Chai at incredible rates.
Because Z went to Turkey we got to witness God's ridiculous faithfulness to His word as we were provided for by having the best host home, tons of energy, and lots of health for all 3 of us.
But also, because Z went to Turkey I have almost no pictures of the entire experience! Chasing a toddler and snapping photos aren't exactly complimentary activities. One of the guys on our team was in charge of taking pictures so I am planning on just stealing all of his whenever I get the chance.
I'm off to tutor middle schoolers, but we had a -great- time and we're enjoying making Z into a little world traveler.
And, we're glad we went now because while one baby was doable, I'm not sure I could make it with 2 on the outside!!!
