Little Girl Prayers

Around 3/4 of the time, during our bedtime routine, I pray with Z. After we've read all the books we're going to read, she turns around and faces me and I ask, "do you want to talk to God? What was your favorite part about today?" And then, she answers with some sort of long, babbly story that I don't really understand, or she gives me one word things like "Daddy.." "Mimi," etc.
Then I say, "Okay, well lets thank God for our favorite parts about today..." and then I pray with Z.


Tonight, after reading books Z turned to me and said, "God?"
So I said, "ok! let's talk to God...what should we thank God for? Should we thank Him for Daddy? Thank you God for Zoe's Daddy who loves her so much and who works hard for us. "
Then, for the first time ever, Zoe took over. She said, "ank you God Daddy, ank you God Mimi, Daisy, ank you God Tia, ank you God mira ink (amira and link), ank you God Abba,Nana, ank you God mama, ank you God bath, ank you God poopoo on the potty (really! this was in there! I too am thankful for indoor plumbing zoe!), ank you God baby (she pointed to her baby doll), ank you God milk (the baby has a bottle of milk she drinks), ank you God miko (music)..."



and that was about it. BUT Matt and I LOVED it! It was so unbelievably sweet to hear Z talking to God and thanking Him for things in her life...and it is very clear what is important to her! I love her!!!
