June Full

For having all this nothing to do you'd think I could write a blog post a little more often!

June holds lots of fun things: Our birthdays, Father's Day, Ana's birthday, and our anniversary. This June it also held the Senior High Grad Dinner and two of my friend's baby showers.

Ohhh that is why I didn't blog... ;)

But to start things off - Matt and I got older. Successfully.

Matt woke up early on my birthday to get breakfast tacos and surprise candy! Sweet memory of the day: after I stayed in bed forever and in my pajamas ate my tacos while watching ANTM, Z opened our bedroom door holding a bag of candy for me and said, "Happy Birthday Momma" and graciously even parted with the candy to hand it to me.  I rewarded her with some. So sweet!

For Mateo's our Godsend Mimi was in town and we stole away for a breakfast date. By far the best kind of date - ever-. I just don't want to leave my house in the evening when my kids are asleep (hello! why would you want to leave -then-?!). It is much more relaxing to have a morning off and stuff our faces with hashbrowns and pancakes. Mmm.

Father's Day also involved a big breakfast this year. I'm beginning to see a theme in what Matt likes. MJ always says, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. C'est vrai!

I interviewed Z and Ana about their Daddy and this is what they came up with this year:

I am wanting to keep this tradition a live. Another tradition I'd like to keep alive is going out for something fun and random! I decided to completely surprise Matt and take him to a waterpark we always joke about not too far from our house out in the hill country. I say "waterpark" but I mean "po-dunk waterpark." That being said, we still had a great time! After spending forever in the kiddie section we spent time taking turns going down some of the bigger rides - Z loved watching us shoot out from the tubes! It sits right on the lake and we went at dusk because the tickets are cheaper. Actually, Matt was free cause it was Father's Day and I was the only one who had to pay money bc the babes were free also. $11 well spent - and the drive out there is stunning as well. 

Then we saw THIS! And we laughed real hard. What even is that?!

Got Balalaika? Well, do you!?!
