I just took my first ondansetron.
I.
feel.
relief.
I took one today because I wanted to find out if they worked for the trip to Egypt. So far so good. The little magical tablet of bliss dissolved 33 minutes ago atop my tongue... tasting a lot like a pink Smartie.
Do you know what it is like to not feel nauseated for the first time in 2 weeks. And I mean, literally, not a moment without stomach lurching for two weeks...
Funny story! I didn't know I had to go to the UT pharmacy to get drugs filled (or else my insurance wont cover it) - and so we went to HEB last night and when they handed me the meds with the bill it read, "$945.00"
That decimal is in the right spot.
Price paid at the SSB? $10.00 co-pay.
Ondansetron, for your information and since I *happen* to be a pharmacology wiz who just took her comprehensive final in PHR 338 - works on the Serotonin (5HT3) receptors and is a "miracle" drug given to patients getting chemotherapy. It's called a "life-saving drug" because it enables patients to withstand the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy.
It also apparently allows sick mothers-to-be to reclaim their lives.

I'm so glad the medicine worked!!! ..and even more happy that it was actually only $10!! ;-)
By the way, CONGRATS!! I can't wait to follow along in the blogging world! This medication is, by the way, a miracle drug. I lived on it from week 14 to 41!!!!!!
